Engineered wood products which include Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) and Oriented Strand Board (OSB) are
manufactured using a variety of fast-growing, relatively small diameter trees. The laminating and gluing process produces a
stronger more consistent product with virtually no warping or splitting. This process reduces waste
by using more of the raw wood in the manufacture of the product as well eliminating waste caused by
imperfections in the wood. It allows longer lumber to be produced from smaller trees with the
end result being a more environmentally friendly product.
